Softcede® (AMS Replacement)
In hard water the glyphosate adheres to the calcium & iron particles and becomes less effective. By pre-conditioning or softening the water before adding glyphosate you receive the maximum potential activity from your glyphosate.
Softcede is a water-softening agent to be used to replace AMS with glyphosate.
With low use rates, Softcede readily goes into suspension without agitation and mixes well with other products. Softcede is also compatible with other glyphosate additives.
Before using Softcede determine how hard your water is (i.e. using test strips). Add Softcede, to your water prior to glyphosate, according to rate chart on the label. Standard use rate is 1-quart/ 100 gallons of water.
Cost of Softcede:
With medium-to-hard water:
Softcede at 1 quart per 100 gallons of water at 10 gallons per acre costs .32 per acre.
AMS @ 17.5 pounds per 100 gallons of water will cost about .31 per acre but it will not soften the water.
